Roy...first saw you rope at Clem's ropin at Bushyhead,Ok. you were like 19 and riding Ernie Taylor's great horse...and I've followed your career ever since....
was in OKC the night you tied one down in 8.0 to tie the arena record with, I think, Clif Williamson....have the tape and watch it all the time...great run....
your boys bring me lots of thrills now.

Wow.....what a Legacy and it continues with no end in site. I remember in about 1984 I was just learning to rope. I went to my 2nd Roy Cooper Roping School in Kingsville, TX. I was in awwww, because I got to stand in the same arena with Roy Cooper, Clay Tom Cooper, Mike McGlaughlin and Joe Beaver. "The Greats" It was an honor to rodeo with friends like Cody Ohl, Tony Reina, Dan Weakly, Brady Hellums, Matt Petrus and John Atkinson just to name a few. I met Tuf Cooper on December 12th at the Mirage at the NFR Tie Down Ropers autograph session. I asked him to sign his 8 X 10 to my father-in-law, John Suggs who is in the UNC Burn Center at Chapel Hill, NC. He was burned in an electrical explosion. He is expected to make a full recovery, but it is going to be long, hard and painful. Tuf actually took the time to write something special other than the obligatory "Get Well". Tuf wrote "Get Well, Tuf Times Don't Last, Tuf People Do" I think that is the greatest! I have the 8X10 framed and it will be going to John's hospital room this week. I was also in the Thomas and Mack that same night and watched Tuf win the ninth round of the NFR. What a perfect day!! I just wanted to add a comment to let Tuf know how much he is appreciated by a fan in NC. I'm looking foward to watching him rope in lots more NFR's. God Bless

i just wanted to say that the whole cooper family are excellant ropers and tuf is who ive been with since the nfr started and he is wy i want to keep roping if he can make it proffessional at the age of 18 then it gives hope to any aspiring roper so thanks tuf cooper a.k.a young gun
